People & Culture Business Partner
Shape people strategy, strengthen leadership and culture, and guide workforce planning and change — partnering with senior leaders to deliver confident, compliant business outcomes.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The P&C Business Partner is a strategic advisor and change leader, partnering with senior leaders to align people strategy with business outcomes. The role drives organisational performance through capability uplift, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, culture initiatives and data-led decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•People Partnering
Partner with senior leaders to support the execution of business strategy through workforce and capability planning.
Act as a trusted advisor on organisational effectiveness, risk, and performance.
•Talent & Workforce Strategy
Lead workforce planning, succession strategies, and critical role identification.
Drive talent pipelines aligned to future capability needs.
Embed internal mobility, career pathways and retention strategies.
•Leadership & Capability Development
Coach leaders on performance, engagement and culture outcomes.
Partner with leaders to build leadership capability, consistency and accountability.
Partner with the L&D team to design and implement leadership development initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.
•Culture, Engagement & Change
Lead culture initiatives that reinforce values, behaviours and employee experience.
Drive organisational change initiatives, including restructures, transformation and rebranding.
Partner with leaders to stabilise teams and improve engagement outcomes.
•Performance & Accountability
Embed a high-performance culture through robust performance frameworks and leadership capability.
Support leaders in setting clear expectations, managing underperformance and recognising high performers.
•Employee & Industrial Relations
Provide expert advice on employee relations matters and risk mitigation.
Lead investigations and ensure fair, consistent outcomes.
•Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, including APRA and CPS 511, and internal governance frameworks.
Partner with Legal, Risk and Compliance to proactively manage people-related risk.
Maintain oversight of policy frameworks and ensure business alignment.
•People Analytics & Insights
Leverage workforce data to inform decisions and identify risks and opportunities.
Provide insight-led recommendations on turnover, engagement, capability and performance trends.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
•At least 4 years’ experience in a P&C Business Partner role, including coaching senior stakeholders.
•Strong understanding of employment legislation, HR best practice and employee relations risk management.
•Experience working in a regulated or governance-heavy environment, ideally financial services or an APRA-regulated organisation.
•Strong track record in workforce planning, talent strategy, organisational change and leadership capability uplift.
•Strong organisational, prioritisation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exposure to HRIS, dashboards or people analytics tools desirable.
